Bronze Poppy Garden Coin Pendant
I used to grow poppies when I lived in Ohio. I had the perfect dirt to grow just about every color. I had fancy ones with layers of colors, some with fringed edges and a few unusual colors. I ordered them from a strange plants catalog and soon had a beautiful explosion of color. The only one I couldn’t get to grow was the Himalayan Blue. I still think about the vivid blue and orange flowers that refused to thrive. I suppose I carved this piece with those in mind.
This substantial pendant is made of pure bronze, from a hand carved mold. The pendant features hallmarks of a handmade item: fingerprints impressed into the back, little cracks and crevaces - not defects, but marks left to replicate ancient coins.
This piece measures about 32mm across. Thanks for looking!
