Mystical Snake Ring Brass

Over the years I've carved many snake rings and this one just might be perfect, or closer anyway to the one in my head. I saw a really amazing Victorian jewel in a museum a long time ago and it just stuck. There's something so magical about the form and patterns! From the serpent in the Garden, to the ouroboros, people have been attaching meaning to these creatures for ages. The Asclepius, symbol of the medical industry comes to mind.

I carved this baby serpent after almost trodding on one while on a hike in the mountains. It was so small, I thought it was a centipede at first. After inspecting it's round obsidian eyes and miniature twisting body, I realized if I just made him in metal I'd have my perfect snake ring.

This ring is cast in brass, which looks lovely with gold. It's warm finish can be highly polished, or left in the lightly polished way I'll send it to you. To make it matte or satin, it can be buffed with a new, dry kitchen scrubbie. Or super fine sanding sponge. If you want to get really creative, you could patina it with one of the many that are on the market.

I've carved this ring to fit a variety of sizes and is adjustable to about a 5. My daughter ( who is a petite 12 year old) wears one and it wraps around her finger with just the head showing and the tail in the back. My husband has tried it on and it looks good on his big man hands.

All of our items are hand crafted from the finest materials available. It is our wish to create goods that will last several lifetimes and be cherished by our great grand kids! Also be aware that each piece is made by hand, meaning little differences may occur, like a tiny air bubble or seam line may be visible. These variances should not be viewed as flaws, but as evidence they are a handmade product.
