Vintage Sterling Box Clasp with Antique Czech Glass

This epic, sterling and antique Czech glass cabachon box clasp is fantastic! The build quality is amazing. Durable and snug fitting, this clasp is not going to pop open or break anytime soon. These are what I call a ‘focal clasp’, it functions as a fastener and also a centerpiece. These clasps were always a limited edition, due to the antique cabochons. The cabochons were made during the Victorian period all the way to the early 1900’s, when ‘paste’ ( glass gems with foiled backs and iridescent finishes due to flamework). These cabs were never in production and look really beautiful! The design could be traced back, if you visited the factory in the Czech Republic, but they haven’t been made in decades. They are truly unique and in wonderful condition.
